The universal default position is always collapse, and so it will be with human kind. The human mindset, the primitive ego, has a very simple mantra — survive at all costs and seek advantage at every opportunity. The super rich are just much better at exercising that mindset than the rest of us.

But as the world drowns in human population overgrowth and the waste it generates, nothing about the basic mindset of Darwinian competition can or will possibly change right to the very end.
