The Wall Street-GOP-Right Wing-Trump-Immigration Border Security Ploy

The well informed understand how following the devastation of World War Two that the United States was left the only major manufacturing power wholly intact. With money rolling in to US manufactures, they were able to pay high wages to American semiskilled workers and still rake in obscene profits. But, then, after about twenty-five years the American manufacturing monopoly evaporated as the rest of the world recovered from war.

At about the same time as the American gravy train was slowing down and the Democrats were backing civil rights, minorities began flocking evermore strongly to the more liberal party, just as xenophobic Whites responded by migrating over to the dog whistling GOP.

Moreover, Wall Street needed a diversion for their outsourcing of jobs and importing of cheap labor. Wall Street’s Republicans shills found a way to have their cake and eat it too. While under the table corporations were recruiting cheap labor from south of the boarder, their Republicans benefactors in Congress drew attention away from corporate outsourcing by blaming the collapse of jobs on brown illegals — Mexicans.

With the help of Newt Gingrich and Roger Ailes of Fox News, and the rest of the right wing noise machine lead by Rush Limbaugh, Wall Street found a way of screwing White American workers and yet still getting their votes for their pet programs by drumming up hatred against the very cheap labor it was importing. In other words lower middle class white workers were both shooting themselves in the foot by handing over their vote to their corporate oppressors and blaming the wrong party for their economic demise.

Meanwhile the Right-wing media monster was making a fortune pandering to xenophobic fears of the new-poor, Whites workers terrified that their once White privilege was evaporating because of Washington liberals.

Along with gerrymandering, voter suppression, it was critical that Republicans keep the issue of boarder security and immigration problems alive as their chief devise for firing up its exploited White base. So every time a comprehensive solute between Democrats and Republicans seemed set, the Republican leadership found a way to scuttle the fix, usually by, at the last minute, refusing to bring the agreement up for a vote in either the House or the Senate.

But then there was the Clinton factor with which to contend. Back in the 90s the Clintons had employed a political strategy termed triangulation. Simply put, Bill Clinton pandered to minorities, being at the same time careful to support certain Wall Street goals like ridding it of regulations that the moneybags found constraining. Indeed, President Clinton signed legislation that abolished the very critical Glass-Steagall Act. This was a depression era piece of legislation that had keep big banks in check. This opportunist move by Clinton to placate Wall Street, lead directly to the housing and financial collapse of 2008.

Hillary, too, dabbled with Wall Street about as much as Republicans pandered to minorities, but it was just enough to turn her off to a certain strain of Democrat, costing her the election for president, with a lot of help from the Russians in support of Trump of course.

Enter then the Donald as president. He took blaming minorities for the nations ills to a whole new level of intensity. The GOP establishment didn’t cotton to his barging his way into the party. But what could it do? The GOP had dog whistled itself a base that was fully in tune with Trump’s primitive ways. In a heartbeat Trump took control of the base. It was his party.

With Trump giving the Wall Street fat cats what they wanted — all the gold they could get its hands on — Republican politicians quickly fell in line with Trump’s daffy ways. But then something the Republicans weren’t counting on came in with the new president — Russians, lots of Putin loving Russians. And since Putin’s boys had somehow found a way to turn Trump into the best weapon against the West ever, it left the GOP in the very awkward position of being forced to sustain a man who brazenly supports America’s greatest enemy.

Trump has found blaming minorities to be even more important for his own political (and literal survival) as Wall Street found it handy. It is a downright scary thing that Trump’s extremes of replacing a phony border crisis with a multitude of troubles of his own making is highly favorable to our enemy, Putin’s Russia. Trump’s craziness has reached a point where he risks our nation’s very existence. For example, in trying to use a national shutdown as leverage for his pet political project, the wall, the FBI is being starved of funds desperately needed to track down real terrorists and Russian espionage activities.

Alas, the Constitution never made provisions for handling a president totally willing to sacrifice an entire nation to his own whims. So come on Republicans. Forget playing the blame minorities and immigration border wall game. Save us all, and help the Democrats put our rogue president in his proper place — jail.
