The Wimps
The following plainly written article is, yet, one of the most elegant exposures of phony American patriotism and freedom that I have ever read.

As brave, self-sacrificing nurses, doctors and first responders go into work each day to keep us protected from the horrible coronavirus, a small army of Donald Trump supporters cowardly protests how hard they have it because they were asked to stay in for a couple of weeks for the good of all the people. What wimps!
They wrap themselves in the American flag and drive around in pickup trucks because they have to stay home rather than go to work. I suggest that members of this “wimp army” drive to a hospital and maybe deliver some meals, or just beep their horns in appreciation to the brave people who are saving lives during this war. If they have trucks, maybe they should take them to a food bank and pick up and deliver meals to those who have a real need.
In times of crisis, the saying “When things get tough, the tough get going,” is shown to be true. This crisis has shown who is tough and who can’t handle even a little sacrifice.
It is not brave to put others at risk, and it is not “patriotic” to pretend that you care about “constitutional rights” when you only care about yourself. But, fear not. The real heroes will still treat you with dignity and respect if you get sick because of your selfish group protests, because that is what real heroes do.
The next time you see a nurse, and then see an “Open everything up today” protester, ask yourself who is the hero and who is the wimp.
