The world (people) have gotten to a rate of change whereby larger and larger numbers of folks can’t keep up either emotionally or technically. The more primitive the mind (talking base ego mostly) the more it resists change. That is why you find conservatives always wanting to go back to what either was or what they imagine was a simpler time. That is a big part of the attraction of Trump’s slogan, Make America Great Again — the good old days for many lower middle class whites.

As they say victory goes to the swift and the bold. This doesn’t bode well for the average joe, and he resents it — bigly, as his hero would say.

I suppose the social engine will continue to speed up until it finally blows itself completely up with nukes.
