There are some mighty fine Republicans. I was briefly one of them, though I must admit for all the wrong reasons. But then some of the GOP leadership got desperate for votes and to retain power, so they started dog whistling xenophobia types, and what became Trump folks poured in and took over the party. Now the real Republican are either gone on the way out or limp hostages.
