There is not necessarily a direct connection between intellect and IQ. Years ago when I was in school there was a classmate who was a mathematical wiz. No double the kid had a high IQ and would do very well in life, but he was no intellect. He thought Senator Joe McCarthy was a great guy. Now I would bet the ranch that 90% of the folks who had a good opinion of the senator were also primative ultra conservatives.
