This is a typical Republican response. For a long time Republicans have been nothing more than shills for their super rich donors. They take from the many and give to the few. I, however, caution that direct democracy is a two edged sword. Humans, being emotional before rational creatures, are easily bamboozled buy demagogues, thus the founding fathers thought that an indirect democracy was safer.

And so it’s the Republican attack on indirect democracy via voter suppression strategies that I fear most.
