This is all very interesting but it doesn’t get to the heart of bias. Bias flows out of the primitive ego which is all about survival and finding advantageous ways to survive and flourish.

This hardwired bias has no interest in objectivity, especially when it comes to the tribal impulse to work together with like kind and reject the “other.”

The only think that Trumps primitive bias is an enhanced intellect, which does seek out truth and objectivity. Thus the real battle within humanity is between those of intellect and those devoid of intellect. Intellect craves a broad perspective — open mindedness. Those devoid of intellect are quick to disparage those who do possess intellect, being narrow minded at root.

Don’t, however, confuse intellect with IQ smarts. Some very closed minded, incurious, poorly read folks have quick effective minds when they feel compelled to use them for local advantage.
