This issue isn’t rocket science. There is a saying that to do a good job you need the right tools. The right tool for killing is a gun, the more powerful the better. A kid bent on mass murder doesn’t enter a school with a penknife.

I don’t hate guns. I own three of them — a snubbed nosed 38, a lever action Winchester and a functional Civil War muzzle loading rifle. I like most Americans simply don’t like the flimsy ways guns are sold.

Sure there are some paranoid Americans the NRA convinces that the government is out to get their guns — nonsense. Like all the old Tobacco lobby BS, gun manufacturers simply want to maximize profits, and they don’t care about the cost in human life. The NRA over time has degenerated in to nothing more than a brutal blood lobby.

To say that reasonable gun laws can’t drastically reduce killings of all kinds is nuts. That would be to turn a blind eye to the way the rest of the civilized world works — experiencing but a faction of America’s killings. Sure you can quote exceptions all over the place, but they are still exceptions.
