This rebuttal is just a dressed up version of the same old GOP voodoo, trikle down economics. Republicans are always blowing up the debt and handing big bucks to the fat cats when they are in power. Then they cry like babies when the Democrats come in to dig the country out of an economic hole, which requires necessary spending.

This last tax gift to the fat cats was nothing more than a sugar high to an economy that was already at peaking momentum from Obama’s hard work.

Back when the top rate was 70% the economy boomed, the rich did quite well and there was plenty of money for teachers, police, firemen, roads and brideges and major projects like the interstate highway system.

But as year after year the Republicans have cut taxes the American infrastructure and quality of life for average Americans has crumbled, just so that fat cats can stuff an extra 500 billion dollars into overseas bank accounts.
