Traditional Republican Politicians Are Ducking The Issue Of Overturning Roe V Wade
With midterm elections only months away traditional Republican politicians fear a massive turnout of young women, females hoping to protect their reproductive rights, a blue wave that will wreck GOP control of Congress. And so those few GOP spokespersons that are, indeed, willingly to go before the TV news cameras are for the moment soft-pedaling the idea that Trump’s soon to be Supreme Court appointee will likely overturn Roe V Wade. Yes, for the moment they are in settled law mode.
Actually it is problematic whether or not Trump, himself, even cares that traditional Republicans get hammered in the coming election. It won’t seriously affect his hardcore supporters. I mean, do you really think he cares if the old line GOP is permanently whacked. There should remain just enough “Freedom” Caucus types in Washington to keep him from being impeached and convicted.
If the Donald plays his cards right, he should come out of the midterms with yesterday’s Republican Party in the dumpster and his know-nothing supporters stronger than ever for him, as the Supreme Court moves to criminalize abortion with jail sentences for women and doctors who disdain the possible new law of the land.
This will leave the Trumpster with two years to implement a bag full of underhanded tricks to pave the way for his “reelection” in 2020. In fact most of the opposition might even be missing or in jail by then. Or as the warden in in the awesome movie, The Shawshank Redemption, said, am I being too obtuse here? Oh happy days.
