In the rough and tumble world of New York real estate wheeling and dealing there isn’t much political incentive to go after marginally legal tactics. It might as well be the lawless Wild West, sharp elbow scrums in which Trump’s crudeness seemed right at home, even though he wasn’t very good at it and eventual was compelled to turn to the Russians to bail him out.

And yet having put himself out on a problematic limb with the Russians, being economically obligated to them, his childish ego could not resist making a run at the presidency, even though in his heart of hearts he most likely had no real desire to win. But win he did and suddenly the rules of legality have turned hard against him.

With the security of the nation on the line, having a Russian compromised President Trump in the White House; all Trump’s earlier sins have suddenly come under a glaring spotlight by an independent counsel and a bunch of Congressional investigation committees.

In other words the Donald by his own doing has come out of the woodwork as president to be batted around at will by America’s better angels, a nation fighting back to protect itself from his incompetent insanity — he being a witting or unwitting Russian instrument that threatens the very foundation of American democracy.

Indeed, this is no longer some minor New York escapade or tacky reality TV show, Donald. Karma is at last striking back against your sleazy ways. You have gone a bridge too far, a bridge that is about to come tumbling down.
