Trump Forces Continue Their War On The GOP And Everybody Else That Gets In Their Way
Working on the premise that hate is the most powerful of unifying agents Trump and company (Trump & Steve Bannon) continue to plot the demise of the old line Republican Party as a precursor for forming the Trump Party from among its shattered remains. Trump of course already owns the misfit base of the Grand Old Party that has blossomed in the last thirty years.
According to Politico, the Donald’s “closest allies are planning a slate of primary challenges against Republican senators…. The activity has alarmed senior Republicans, who worry it will drain millions of dollars from the party’s coffers to take on Democrats in the general election.” Senate Majority Leader McConnell has practically begged President Trump to have his chief henchman, Bannon, stop siphoning money away from incumbent Republican Senators, which could seriously imperil the party’s Senate majority.
Since the GOP base hates its party’s establishment sometimes even more than Democrats, it is to the insurgent’s advantage to have the party establishment openly warring with it. Indeed, Trump intends to continue winning by generating hatred toward those who would oppose he and his ilk within GOP World.
Trump’s sudden cozying up to Democrats is all part of his intension of destroying the GOP. In other words by playing the xenophobia game in order to gain votes, Republicans have been playing with fire over many years, and now Trump is all about pouring gasoline on that fire by any means possible.
By openly attacking the GOP leadership it shows that Trump is confident that Special Counsel Mueller will not come up with the goods necessary to sink his ship, especially if he cuts deals with the Democrats. Moreover, by cutting deals with the Chuck Schumer crowd it will act to split the progressive left (not the far-far left that went for Trump) from the moderate Democratic center as he endures to erode the Republican establishment, thus killing two birds with one stone.
Trump’s basic strategy is therefore quite simple. Using hatred in all its glorious forms, he intends to rally the nation’s misfits against both the Republican and Democratic centers while at once forming his very own third party, a majority-minority party among a gaggle of minority parties.
