Trump Has A Path To The Presidency Just Not In This Political Cycle

All the Donald needs to do is to hold on to his base over the next four years and he (or his younger appointed stand-in) can win as a third party candidate.

In essence the Donald has been borrowing the Republican Party as his initial private platform from which to roundup disaffected Americans from every political party to his crude calling.

At least 35 or 40 percent of Americans find his thumbing his nose at rational thinking quite appealing. They don’t care about his lies and ignorance on issues; they just want to follow a cheerleader that allows them to hide from their own sense of personal failing. That has always been the service that demagogues provide to the frustrated.

So all the Donald needs to do is to keep his followers fired up, always reminding them of how the system is rigged against them and that with their (HIS) very own party they can beat the “system.” And they can — possibly

If as I suspect 40 percent of Americans are with Trump, it means that in a three-way race in the next presidential cycle the Republicans and Democrats will receive 30 percent of the vote apiece, causing the Trumpsters to win with 40 percent. Well almost. Only if that 40 percent equals the requisite number of Electoral College votes. Otherwise it falls to Congress to elect the next President. Talk about political turmoil.
