A wiseman once said that men pray not so much for their daily bread as they do for their daily delusion. It is what con men like Donald Trump thrive on.
It is what Trump University was built upon, along with every multilevel marketing scheme from Amway to Mary Kay. Delusional schemes devised by the devious designed to seem to fulfill the dreams and desires of the foolish. Sort of like religion, the line of attraction is to say, here little man by following these simple rules you will eventually reach your heavenly pot of gold. You just need to be persistent and dedicated.
Of course after all is said and done, the only one whose pot of gold overflows is the one offering the “opportunity.” Perhaps the hard and fast rule should be never play at someone else’s game unless you are certain that you are far and away the smartest player in the game, like the handful of statistical hotshots who win all the money in the sports fantasy games — along with those who promote the games.
In Trump’s bid for the presidency his game is convincing those Whites whose world has been crushed by technology and globalization that he will make them whole again. And when his target audience is mostly those wishing desperately to be deceived there is no need to reveal details of his hocus-pocus plan. Wishful thinking is a plan unto itself, needing no explanation, just faith. So welcome you all to the church of Trump — the Trump cathedral of fools.
