Trump is not seemingly successful because of what he does, rather it is whom he aims at with what he does that givs him fale standing. There is always among society a segment that prays not so much for its daily bread as it does for its daily delusion, according to that great social commentator of the last century, Eric Hoffer.

You see this part of the American society at Trump rallies, folks desperate to cling to someone who says he loves them, regardless of his mountain of lies. It is that part of any society that forms the core support of every dictator or would be dictator.
