If there was ever any doubt that once in power Trump intended to forever remain in power, it has been put to rest by this disinformation tweet.

“In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally.”

There isn’t a single reputable news source that would give this bit of Trump bullshit the slightest credence. And so the Breitbart presidency begins. The only remaining question being, will “real” Republicans go along with this Nazi style propaganda?

Trump is wasting no time testing the waters on this matter. Who is behind him no matter what? It’s that old dictatorial theme, you are either for me or you are against me. Indeed Trump is putting all on notice that he can’t be controlled and that any who get in his way will be run over.

Up until now many traditional Republicans, such as Speaker Paul Ryan and vice President Elect Pence, have been fooling themselves into thinking that Trump can be contained. But as I have been saying, trying to contain Donald J. Trump is like trying to lasso a bull with string. We are now about to find out which within the GOP prefer power to democracy.

Trump is drawing a line in the sand to see who will follow him into Hell as well as signaling his hardline followers that he may soon be calling upon their muscle for purposes of extraordinary persuasion. Jackboots will soon be given license to do as they please on his behalf. It is the very thing that the thuggish alt-right has been dreaming of for a lifetime. A private army of terror can always outflank a professional army any day.

For the press, intellectuals and the good people of America, the rubber is meeting the road when it comes to American ideals and personal freedom — democracy. It is truly a no holds barred game of life and death now.
