Many years ago as a young boy I went to this Hollywood comedy. I don’t recall the name of the movie or who stared in it. I just remember one hilarious scene. Our joke of a hero was marching between the Confederate and Union lines with a two-sided flag — the American emblem on one side and the Rebel on the other. Both sides were cheering like mad, but then our hero made the mistake of reversing direction and of course he was shot to pieces.
Some months ago I suggested that Trump would start out as a threat to our liberty and American ideals but that in in the end he would merely end up a pathetic joke. I based this reasoning on the way Trump ran his businesses. He is horribly incompetent. He has an army of smart lieutenants who barely manage to keep his businesses afloat because of his terrible judgment and leadership.
He is like a spoiled child who only wants to cherry-pick the goodies with out doing the necessary work. He begs, borrows and steals in order to build and buy things so that he can slap on his name in gold. He is a phony though and though. Whatever works in the moment is good enough for him. He is an adult without a core — just plain rotten.
So now like the comic in the old movie I once saw, Trump has made the necessary and inevitable mistake of reversing direction, and he of course is figuratively (if not eventually worse) being shot to pieces. Even his crazy backer, Rush Limbaugh, is laughing hysterical at him. He has finally devolved to being nothing more than a pathetic joke in the eyes of anyone with half a brain.
