Umair, you are a genius at connecting the dots just beneath the surface, but there is at least one more level that you might want to drill down. Simply because of nature’s hardwired tribal impulses, any nation or collection of peoples that is not perfectly homogeneous as to race, religion and culture is facing a near impossible mountain to climb, and is the perfect setting for demagogues to flourish. This has always been especially true of the American South.

It has only been because of American’s profound ideals that the near impossible has been made nearly possible in the past, but our luck at overcoming long odds can’t hold out against nature’s fearful biases forever. Right!
