Trump and the GOP being a ruthlessly inclined and desperate ilk to turn the nation’s attention away from its botched handling of the Coronavirus Pandemic may have gone full evil. I mean, what a better way to distract the general public and fire up the party’s White reactionary base than some wall-to-wall cable news coverage of liberals and blacks acting as arsonists, looters and rioters.

And what better way to put all this in motion than staging a White cop’s slow-motion killing of a helpless Black man in broad daylight. And better yet, see to it that the killer is not immediately arrested on the grounds of probable cause for murder. Do you really think that if a White man had gone into the local mall and gunned down a bunch of folks the district attorney would be taking about waiting to thoroughly investigate the incident before arresting the caught on camera killer. Do you!

So, yes, the Trump Republicans just might have pulled off the perfect political ploy — a wailing liberal mayor pleading for justice up against a conservative district attorney being ridiculously deliberate. I mean, arresting a cop for clearly aberrant behavior isn’t going to interfere with a through investigation of the case. It’s the way such matters are routinely handled.

This begs the question: Is this simply another example of Trump and his Republicans conspirators crushing the rule of law, perverting justice and abusing morality for the purpose of gaining and holding power? And of course, when all is said and done, if necessary the Republicans have their ever so well-manicured federal court system to rely upon. Right, Mitch — God help America.
