We got to the point where we in effect have an infowars president because all of America’s bad eggs have migrated to the same political party over the last several decades — the Republican Party. This gave the bad ones power of scale, and then of course the Donald popped up to give them a leader. Meanwhile, because it was so highly profitable, a propaganda machine in the form of right wing talk radio and Fox “News” came into being. So now all the pieces for an authoritarian state are in place.

Currently, only the courts and about 55% of folks who understand and appreciate democracy stand in the way of a total fascist dictatorship.
