What Did We Learn About The Philadelphia Eagles From Their Exhibition Game With The Cowgirls?

First off the Eagles need to stop wasting the speed and running ability of Jason Huntley. Bring him on the active roster as triple depth — running back, wide receiver and kick returner. He is already awesome at two out of three of those roles, and if they can teach him route running as a wide receiver his after the catch yards would be terrific.

Next stop all this QB roulette nonsense. The Eagles already have a fine one two punch at QB in young Hurts and Minshew. Hurts has the perfect mindset to lead, good foot speed and a strong arm. He just needs a little more experience in reading the field. Minshew has a quick release and can slide in the pocket. He is quite capable of winning games behind the starters as needed.

Then going into the April draft the Eagles need to cut the mistakes of Jalen Regar and JJ Arcega-Whiteside. And stop trying to outsmart everyone in the draft. The team already has a good base of talent. Simply take all those high draft picks and draft the best available player at any position, except perhaps they might want to go for a super defensive end over another position.

The score in last night’s game may have looked bad, but a lot of good stuff was learned about the Eagles future from it. It’s all up to GM Howie Roseman not to get too cute in the coming months when it comes to player personnel.

Go EAGLES!
