When I first met my wife I was a janitor cleaning her office. I also happened to be a writer and a budding stock trader on the side. But to cut to the chase, we married. Today I’m worth a few miliion. We have traveled all over the world together and things have generally worked out well for both of us.

Can you imagine, though, what a typical female would have thought when I walked into her office with my sweeper? (Well, there’s goes nothing special.) Right!

Jim Ridgway, Jr. military writer — author of the American Civil War classic, “Apprentice Killers: The War of Lincoln and Davis.” Christmas gift, yes!
