Wrong! There was absolutely no political will of the American people and its representatives to get heavily bogged down in another major conflict, especially one as complex as that in Syria. There was no bright line between the good guys and the evil ones.

It would have been like a cop rushing into a bar in which everyone was armed to the teeth and trying to figure out whom among them was the terrorists doing all the killing. Indeed, taking on Syria would have made the Iraqi gambit look like child’s play by comparison. But with Obama, he used his wisdom in a way that still forced Syria to give up the greatest bulk of its chemical weapons without a single American casualty. It was the absolute maximum positive thing that the US could possibly have caused to happen in that hell hole of a place.
