Yes, we ought to do all these wonderful things, but we could have said that from the beginning of humankind.

Tribalism is in our bones. We can never get rid of it or cure it. All that we can do is rise above it via education and especially enhanced intellect.

The problem is that roughly 40% (the bottom tier) of almost any society is incapable of generating an enhanced intellect. And year in and year out we see that 40% support for the most terrible of leaders.

In fact there is nothing the MAGA hats hate more than enhanced intellect--whom they see as elitism.
