You are absolutely right and absolutely wrong, John. Relative to everthing prior to WWII America has improved. Relative to the 50s 60s and 70s America, for her average citizens, has gone down hill as the nation’s oligarchs have reasserted their dominance,

The great mid 20th century middle class explosion was a historical bubble, an anomaly resulting from the effects of World War Two. Sort of like the Roman Empire did living off the vanquished until there were no more vanquished.

Historically speacking you are either the oligrachs collecting interest from the general population or you are the exploited paying interest to the powers to be. That my friends is the real social divide. That’s the way it is, and the way it will always be.
