You articulate the positive side of probability balance beautifully, Joe. And yes we humans are a part of the cosmic dance, but not in some lovely spiritual way. The universe remains infinitely within a process of creation and destruction that is beyond our capacity as mere humans to seriously influence as we are captives of the process.

Via our human intellegence we have been engaged in an up and down process of creation that has within it the seeds of our own final destruction.

With overpopulation combined with immensely destructive nuclear weapons at our fingertips the final negative offset grows nearer by the day.
