You have to drill down much farther than most do to understand our political dilemma, although the cause is incredibly simple. For many many decades America’s negative political forces were scatter about evenly among the two major political parties and a few really far out political groups. Now they have more or less coalesced within a single party, the Republican Party, not counting a few crazies so far to the left that they easily qualify as a negative force — not talking here about the typical Bernie supporting left, a lot father out that those folks.
The negatives that are the modern day Republican base have attained the sort of combined leverage that cannot be easily overcome, if ever it can be overcome. So expect this roughly 40% of the electorate to be in business long beyond our lifetimes.
