You make an excellent point of which I have to constantly remind myself.

You see I grew up and worked in the time of America’s sweet spot — born in 1940. Even though I served in the military for a few years it was during peacetime — very lucky. Moreover, you didn’t need an expensive college education do get a decent paying job, at least if you were White.

In fact were I coming into today’s labor market, flipping burgers might be my limit. So I do get your point. Lots of opportunities if everything breaks just right.
