You make some very, very good points, Jay. There may be political blind eyes all over the place involving donor money. But here is the kicker. To unravel the Trump Russian connection, including the enormously complex issue of money laundering would require unbelievably mammoth legal and investigative staffs, costing hundreds of millions of dollars with political landmines everywhere.

Such an undertaking would never be remotely contemplated unless the issues involved reached a white hot level. Russian hacking of the election process greatly inflamed by Trumps self-destructive tweets, tweets practically begging for such an investigation to be undertaken has manage to bring the issue to a critical mass — game on.

The bottom line is that Trump won’t have the Russians to bail him out of this bungled mess. First there was his father to bail him out, then the American banks bailed him out, and lost their shirts in the process, and finally the Russian oligarchs came to his rescue.

Meanwhile Trump has thrown just about every one of his allies under the bus and is still hard at work burning bridges with the few that remain. He has come to the end of the line. One way or the other, it’s over for the Donald. Even the third wife looks like she’s had it. Karma is a bitch.
