Your point is well made, but this is not what Trump voters were reacting to. Even if the elite were perfect in their indeadors the result among non elites would have been exactly the same. It’s a tribal thing they are reacting to. We are the poor uneducated tribe and you guys are the rich successful tribe.

Everything else is inside baseball stuff to them. It is never more than shirts and skins in life — them and us. Trump just conned them into believing he was us — probably a good reason they are poor and uneducated.
